GUN CONTROL

Nowhere in the world is gun control more controversial than in the United States, where gun possession is constitutionally protected but where murders committed with guns are extremely common. "The United States accounts for just 4% of the world’s population but 35% of global firearm suicides and 9% of global firearm homicides," (Mohsen Naghavi, et al.) Regardless of the irrefutable proof that looser gun control correlates to an increase in gun-related deaths, we continue to hold on to our desire for assault rifles and weapons that are wholly unnecessary from private citizens.
